I commend you on your choices. I grew up on a farm and so it is always a comfort to know that our animals were always humanely treated and free range without a bunch of steroids or other drugs that some of the meat plant type operations do. Good on you!
first off i just want to say that i love your dog:) I love chicken. I buy amish chicken and i can taste a difference from the say golden plump or whatever it is. i love veggies but i dont think i could go without my chicken. Thanks for sharing and i look forward to your recipes:)
What a great ethic you have chosen as to what goes in your body. I too try at least make sure that I my food are as local and ethically treated as can be and I have been very satisfied and happy with my choice.
It’s very sad….and I just can’t even watch those things because they tend to cause a “flare up” of the OCD stuff…I am a big animals lover,so those things are important to me. I am doing well with the eating so far and I hope to find more varieties as I go along…Thanks girl!
I’m full of it alright haha…Seriously thank you You are right that I have to do what is best for me concerning this anyway. I hope you have a nice weekend too!
Exactly…just thinking before you buy can make a huge difference…I know I’ve come a long way since my surgery….I don’t think I would have made this decision before honestly.
I may do that for Joe’s portion…We do have a local rancher not too awful far from my town. I bet with just him eating the meat it would be pretty cost effective.
Good for you for standing up for what you believe! I eat a very limited amount of meat myself, some chicken some turkey but mostly fish seafood lots of fruits vegetables, my body just feels better that way. Looking forward to your recipes…
why dont you reach out to a local rancher. buy a grassfed animal. it takes a little effort to share one animal with several people but you would exactly know where it came from. you could have it packaged just as you want it. you could even have most of it ground into hamburger so toughness wont be a problem.
Good video Allison. i have been trying to make healthier choices too. Its not really hard. We just have to think before we buy. We have come a long way with our surgery so now we have to try to take care of our health. Norma
You’re videos are full of information and great detail that you take upon yourself to share with others. Quite helpful informative. Take care of yourself keep safe. And do what’s best for you not worry about what other’s say/think.. Here’s to great health better thinking! Have a great weekend Allison Joe.. xo’s Hugs.
I love your idea plan about the dairy seafood, fish idea. That would be awesome.
We are making a food run to chicago to go to whole foods trader joes, which i love. I couldn’t agree with you more about the chickens i like to buy the “better choices” cage free eggs, etc… I’ve seen all the videos from peta about KFC its so sad :*(
thanks for the videos again hope you have a great weekend!!

Yeah I think it’s an excellent plan, if you can do it.
Unfortunately with my location and no health food stores shopping for quality meat at a regular grocery store usually means at least two dollars more a pound when you can find it.
I think you’re absolutely right, if it’s available to you and affordable definitely do it.
Thanks for telling us about your journey.
Take care!
I hear what you’re saying. I think about this a lot but it’s hard to do when you travel a lot…for me anyway. I won’t ever be vegan but I do want to eat as close to natural as possible. I think man manipulated foods today do cause many diseases and particular immune diseases and cancers! I am far from 100% organic or vegetarian but I do wish our nation was more into natural and not mass production, large portion, forever shelf life mentality.
People have to make their choices…I just wanted to put my plan/opinion out there. Eating free range etc. is more expensive ,but the cost is worth it to me. Also, you can find some good deals to where it’s not that much more usually. This one store I go to has the chicken and a lot of the times there are several packs marked down and we just freeze it. My food budget isn’t out of control even with eating this way. Thanks for watching!
I do still do the protein shakes everyday ( or most). The protein powder I use doesn’t have the chemicals,so I feel good about that…and it tastes pretty good. I did a review on it and I’ll post it if you want to check this brand.

oh.. and knowing me, i couldn’t breed them because then they would be my pets, not my food… what conundrum! lol!
April 5th, 2010 at 1:53 am
true.. but unless we breed our own, theres only so much control that we have unfortunately.
